How you can provide a grocery shopping service in four easy steps. These days, families are so busy that simple tasks such as going grocery shopping get in the way of daily activities, work and fun. You can provide your services and take care of these mundane chores for busy families or the disadvantaged elderly.

Step one. Locate an area in which you think people will need grocery services such as retirement communities, up-scale family-oriented communities, or vacation communities. Once you have located these places, distribute flyers around their neighborhoods and at the local grocery stores.

Step two. Set your prices and create an informational flyer with your prices and fees of your service, comparisons to other local services, and what days and times you are available to shop.

Step three. Have a sit-down consultation with your client. Ask them what types of foods they like and don’t like, what brands they prefer, how much they spend a week on groceries, if they have children, or frequently host dinners or barbeques. Go through their refrigerator and pantry with them to get an idea of what types of foods they expect.

Step four. Search the local newspaper and online for coupons and discounts on food your clients like and keep them on hand when you go shopping. This will save them money and they will appreciate your extra effort! Once at the grocery store, inform the manager you own a local grocery shopping business and he may give you a discount if you choose to frequently attend his store.

Great tip: Go above and beyond your normal services and ask if your clients would like you to pick up other items such as clothing, or a birthday present for an upcoming birthday.
